Prayer Starter - Thursday, August 28, 2025 "Give me Water from the Well that Never Runs Dry.
Hello, Here is a song I think you will enjoy: Living Water.
(John 4 ESV). Water is one of the most basic and essential parts of life. Someone once said, "when God created water, everything else was details." That may not capture all the wonder and beauty of God’s creation, but it does remind us how vital water truly is.
When Jesus stopped to speak with the Samaritan woman at the well, He crossed two barriers of His time. He spoke with a woman, and He spoke with a Samaritan—something Jews didn't do. Yet Jesus used this simple request for water to open her heart and invite her to see beyond old prejudices and assumptions.
The woman reminded Him that He had nothing to draw water with and that the well was deep. But Jesus wasn’t talking about drinking water. He was pointing to Himself—the source of living water, the water that brings eternal life.
Water is necessary for life, but Jesus offers something even greater—living water. When He spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well, He invited her to receive the gift of eternal life through Him.
Just as our bodies need water each day, our souls need the living water of Christ. Only Jesus can refresh us in ways nothing else can. His living water never runs dry, and it gives us strength for today and hope for eternity.
Oh gracious God, thank You for being the living water that refreshes my soul. Help me to turn to You each day for strength, peace, and hope. Remind me that Your love never runs dry and that eternal life is secure in You. By the power from our Savior at the well, Amen.
