Thursday, May 7, 2026 Proverbs 12 & 13 Praying for wise decisions

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,

but whoever hates correction is stupid.

Good people obtain favor from the Lord,
but he condemns those who devise wicked schemes.

No one can be established through wickedness,
but the righteous cannot be uprooted.

A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown,
but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.

Proverbs 12:1-4 NIV

Proverbs 12 and 13 remind us that small choices shape our lives—especially our words, our willingness to accept correction, and the decisions we make each day.

Our words can heal or hurt, build up or tear down. A wise person learns to pause, speak truth, and choose kindness. These proverbs also highlight the value of discipline. No one enjoys correction, but those who accept it grow stronger and wiser over time.

Wise decisions are rarely rushed. They come from listening, learning, and seeking God’s direction. While foolish choices may feel easy in the moment, they often lead to trouble later.

A steady life is built wise choices, careful words, a teachable spirit, and a heart that follows God.

Lord, help me to use my words wisely and to speak with kindness and truth. Give me a teachable heart that accepts correction and grows from it. Guide my decisions each day so that I may walk in wisdom and honor You in all I do.

Please continue your personal prayer.

Thank You, Jesus. Amen.
