I will be able to describe some of the characteristics of the NT church and be able to apply these principles to my daily walk Issue: In 2023 about 31.2% of the world's population is considered to be Christian. According to the Center for the Study of Global Christianity, there are more than 45,000 Christian denominations globally and more than 200 in the U.S. Most of the denominations came to be after the Protestant Reformation in 1517. How did we get this messy? Is there one true church? If not, why did Jesus say, "I will build my church?" Matthew 16:18.
