Prayer Starter - Saturday, January 31, 2026 From Tears to Trust

Image
Good Saturday morning! This morning let's pray using David's 6th Psalm.  You can read all ten verses here . Psalm 6 is a prayer from a weary heart. David comes to God in pain, admitting his weakness and fear, yet still clinging to God’s mercy. He does not hide his tears - he actually brings them to the Lord. In the middle of his distress, David remembers who God is: compassionate, faithful, and attentive to every cry. This psalm reminds us that prayer is not just for moments of strength, but especially for moments of exhaustion. When our hearts feel heavy and our spirits feel worn, God invites us to come just as we are. Like David, we can move from sorrow to trust, confident that the Lord hears us and will restore our peace. Have mercy on me,  Lord , for I am faint;      heal me,  Lord , for my bones are in agony  . 3  My soul is in deep anguish.      How long,  Lord , how long?   (vs 2  -  3) A...

Good Morning, Prayer Warrior- I hope you have enjoyed praying along side David and the first four Psalms.  For today read Psalm 5 . In the morning,  Lord , you hear my voice;      in the morning I lay my requests before you      and wait expectantly. 4  For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness;      with you, evil people are not welcome. - vs 3, 4. It is the end of another week -  a challenging week for sure.  Weather was unpredictable and just down right dangerous.  If you are like me, you may just be exhausted. Maybe not physically, but mentally or spiritually worn-out. Hopefully, you can get some rest and can avoid evil. Evil often hits us when we are tired.  The Lord replied, 'My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest'  Ex. 33:14 (NIV) Dear God,  Thank You for the rest You provide us. More importantly, thank You for sending Your Spirit to watch over...

Prayer Starter - Thursday, January 29, 2026 Psalm 4

Image
As you can tell, we are praying through the Psalms this week.  My plan is to share two to three Psalms each week and use the psalm to reflect on God's love and then pray to God using the Psalm for direction and motivation. I just couldn't wait to share Psalm 4 with you. Here is is from The Message.   ESV is provided at this link. When I call, give me answers. God, take my side! Once, in a tight place, you gave me room; Now I’m in trouble again: grace me! hear me! 2  You rabble—how long do I put up with your scorn? How long will you lust after lies? How long will you live crazed by illusion? 3  Look at this: look Who got picked by  God ! He listens the split second I call to him. 4-5  Complain if you must, but don’t lash out. Keep your mouth shut, and let your heart do the talking. Build your case before God and wait for his verdict. 6-7  Why is everyone hungry for  more ? “More, more,” they say. “More, more.” I have God’s more-than-enough, ...

Psalm 3 ESV ( NASB ) O  Lord , how many are my foes!      Many are rising against me; 2  many are saying of my soul,      “There is no salvation for him in God.”  Selah 3  But you, O  Lord , are a shield about me,      my glory, and the lifter of my head. 4  I cried aloud to the  Lord ,      and he answered me from his holy hill.  Selah 5  I lay down and slept;      I woke again, for the  Lord  sustained me. 6  I will not be afraid of many thousands of people      who have set themselves against me all around. 7  Arise, O  Lord !      Save me, O my God! For you strike all my enemies on the cheek;      you break the teeth of the wicked. 8  Salvation belongs to the  Lord ;   ...

Prayer Starter - Tuesday, January 27, 2026 Psalm 2

Image
Good morning,   Three or four days each week we will focus our prayers on a Psalm. Psalm 2 Why do the nations rage      and the peoples plot in vain? 2  The kings of the earth set themselves,      and the rulers take counsel together,      against the  Lord  and against his Anointed, saying, 3  “Let us burst their bonds apart      and cast away their cords from us.” 4  He who sits in the heavens laughs;      the Lord holds them in derision. 5  Then he will speak to them in his wrath,      and terrify them in his fury, saying, 6  “As for me, I have set my King      on Zion, my holy hill.” 7  I will tell of the decree: The  Lord  said to me, “You are my Son;      today I have begotten you. 8  Ask of me, and I wi...

Prayer Starter - Monday, January 26, 2026 - Psalm 1

Image
Psalm 1 (NIV) ( ESV ) 1  Blessed is the one      who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take      or sit in the company of mockers, 2  but whose delight is in the law of the  Lord ,      and who meditates on his law day and night. 3  That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,      which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—      whatever they do prospers. 4  Not so the wicked!      They are like chaff      that the wind blows away. 5  Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,      nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. 6  For the  Lord  watches over the way of the righteous,      but the way of the wicked leads to dest...

Prayer Starter - Sunday, January 25, 2026 Prayer as Storms Pass

Image
We got a few days before this storm passes, but here is a comforting thought: After the storm passes, the world often will feel quieter. The air is still, the ground is changed, and we step forward more carefully than before. In those moments, God invites us not only to thank Him for protection, but to trust Him with what comes next. Scripture reminds us,  “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you”   (Isaiah 26:3). God’s peace is not just for the middle of the storm—it is for the days that follow, when we reflect, rebuild, and move ahead in faith. Let this winter be a reminder that God’s hand remains upon you. As you walk forward, carry gratitude in your heart and confidence in His promises. The same God who guarded you through the cold winds and heavy skies will guide you into brighter days, steadying your steps with His unfailing love. Thank You, Lord, for Protecting us through these stormy times. I sit here this morning, list...

Prayer Starter - Saturday, January 24, 2026 Prayer in the Thick of the Storm

Image
There are moments when the storm does not just pass by - it stands all around us. The coldest winds press against our hearts, and the rains seem to fall without pause. In those hours, faith can feel fragile, and strength can feel far away. Yet this is often where God’s presence is felt most deeply. Jesus spoke peace into a raging sea, and He still speaks peace into our lives today. “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble” (Psalm 9:9). Even when the storm roars, God remains closer than our fear and stronger than the winds that threaten to overwhelm us. If you find yourself weary in the middle of the battle, remember this: you are not standing alone. God stands with you, holding you steady, wrapping you in His grace, and whispering hope into the fiercest of storms. Holy Father, don't allow my fears to pierce my faith. Continue to comfort me this day while the storms surround me. Protect me and my family in this battle. Keep us safe from harm's...

Prayer Starter - Friday, January 23, 2026 Safety in Winter storms

Image
Winter storms remind us how small we are and how much we depend on God’s care. The winds may howl and the cold may press in, but Scripture assures us that the Lord remains our steady refuge. When roads become uncertain and the skies grow dark, God’s presence does not waver. He walks with us through every frozen night and every anxious moment, wrapping us in His peace. The psalmist declares, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). As we face winter’s challenges—travel, power outages, health concerns, and worry—we are invited to rest in the One who never sleeps nor slumbers. Let thissweekend's storms draw you closer to God, trusting that His protection is as constant as His love. “The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” — Psalm 121:8 Faithful God, You are our shelter and our shield. As winter storms surround us, we place our trust in Your unfailing care. Watch over our homes, our families, and all who must tra...
