Prayer Starter - Wednesday, October 1, 2025 - Mid-week Prayer Thought

Image
Good Morning Friend, Today  is the first day of October and it is a Wednesday! We are 3 days past the Lord's Day, and our next regular day of worship and praise is four days away.   How is your week going? What concerns you?  What are you excited about?  Are you allowing the devil to pull you down into his trap? Take a minute and write down your blessings. Write down how God is helping you. Then take the time and talk to Him. Praise him, send God some love! 1  I will extol the  Lord  at all times;      his praise will always be on my lips. 2  I will glory in the  Lord ;      let the afflicted hear and rejoice. 3  Glorify the  Lord  with me;      let us exalt his name together. 4  I sought the  Lord , and he answered me;      he delivered me from all my fears. 5  Those who look to him are radiant;   ...

Dear Prayer Warrior - Reading from Ephesians 1:15-22 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints,  I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the ...

Prayer Starter - Monday, September 29, 2025 Prayer to Live Worthy of His Calling

Image
Eph. 4:   4  There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called;   5  one Lord, one faith, one baptism;   6  one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4 calls us to live in a way that reflects the grace we’ve received in Christ. Paul reminds us that following Jesus is not just about believing—it’s about becoming. We are urged to walk in humility, gentleness, patience, and love, showing the world what it looks like when God’s Spirit is at work in us. Paul also teaches that the Christian life is about growth: putting off the old self and putting on the new. This is not a one-time act but a daily choice—to leave behind anger, bitterness, harsh words, and selfish desires, and instead to embrace kindness, forgiveness, and holiness. When we live this way, we protect the unity of Christ’s body and reflect His light in a world that desperately needs it. The cal...

Prayer Starter - Saturday, September 27, 2025 - Pray Like Jesus

Image
Dear Prayer Warrior - This morning we are praying like Jesus.  Luke 10:21   In that same hour  he rejoiced  in the Holy Spirit and said,  “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. In His prayer, Jesus thanks the Father for choosing to reveal His truth to the humble rather than the proud. He reminds us that God’s wisdom is not uncovered by human learning or pride, but by hearts that are open and childlike in faith. Jesus celebrates the Father’s perfect plan—that His truth is given not through human effort but through divine revelation. In this we see His deep joy: the Father entrusts everything to the Son, and through Him, we come to know God. This prayer is a call for us to approach the Lord with humility. If we come with pride, we close ourselves off. But if we come with openness...

Prayer Starter - Friday, September 26, 2025 "Pray Like Jesus - Showing Confidence in God

Image
Dear Prayer Warrior - This morning we are praying like Jesus.  John 11:40-42    Then Jesus said,   “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”    So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said,  “Father, I thank you that you have heard me.     I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.” Read the entire story of Lazarus Before calling Lazarus out of the tomb, Jesus lifted His eyes and offered a short prayer of thanksgiving. He thanked the Father for hearing Him and showed His confidence that the Father always listens. Notice—this was not a plea for help, but a declaration of trust in God’s will and power. In that moment, Jesus prayed not because He needed permission to perform the miracle, but so that the people gathered would believe. His prayer became a testimony, pointing all eyes to t...

Prayer Starter - Thursday, September 25, 2025 - "Pray Like Jesus - Submission over Emotions"

Image
Good Thursday Morning - This week are reflecting on some of the prayers of Jesus. Today's prayer is found in Luke 22:42-44 And when he came to the place, he said to them,  “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.”     And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and knelt down and prayed,   saying,  “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” Jesus' prayer in the garden right before His death, teaches us that Jesus was all about doing the work of the Father.  The prayer reveals His personal pain and His willingness to obey the divine purpose. It shows us the tension between human emotions and a divine calling.  By trusting God and submitting to Him, Jesus sets an example for us to do God's will even in difficult circumstances. Father, I pray to You that I can learn to trust You and do Your will no matter my circumstances. It is hard - my human emotions cause me ...

Prayer Starter - Wednesday, September 24, 2025 " Pray Like Jesus - for His Disciples"

Image
Good Morning, Friend -  Today's prayer from Jesus - John 17 When we read Jesus’ prayer for His disciples, we glimpse the depth of His love and concern for those who follow Him. He lifts them before the Father, asking first and foremost for their protection from the evil one. Jesus knows the road ahead will not be easy—challenges, persecution, and trials await them—but He longs for their safety and endurance in faith. He also prays for their sanctification, that they would be set apart and strengthened by the truth of God’s Word. Jesus understands that only by clinging to the Father’s truth can they stand firm and carry out the mission He is entrusting to them. This prayer is a window into the heart of our Savior. He does not focus on His own suffering, though the cross is near. Instead, He prays for His disciples—for their faith, their growth, and their future work in spreading the gospel. In this, we see the heart of a Shepherd who loves His sheep and prays earnestly for th...

Prayer Starter - Tuesday, September 23, 2025 "Pray Like Jesus - with humility, trust"

Image
Good Morning, Friend -  Luke 11:2-4   “‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. 3  Give us each day our daily bread. 4  Forgive us our sins,      for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation. Jesus made prayer a constant part of His life. Every time He prayed, He showed us something about His close relationship with the Father (which we want to develop) - and His compassion for humanity. Scripture gives us glimpses of these moments—each prayer carrying a unique purpose. Some were cries for guidance, others for strength in difficult times, and many were intercessions for His disciples and all who would follow Him. Through these prayers, Jesus teaches us how to come before God—with humility, trust, and a willingness to surrender. They remind us of His mission and His deep, unwavering love for people—then and now. Each prayer starteter for the next few days will be based on a prayer from Jesus. To...

Prayer Starter - Monday, September 22, 2025 "Go into Our Neighborhood"

Image
Good morning, Prayer Warrior: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." — Matthew 28:19–20 (ESV) Jesus’ command to make disciples of “all nations” isn’t just for faraway mission fields — it starts right where we live. In our communities, the nations have already come to our neighborhoods. God gives us a unique opportunity to cross cultural lines, build friendships, and share the hope of the gospel with people who might never step into a church on their own. This work begins with a heart like Christ’s: humble, compassionate, and willing to listen. Mission is not about changing someone’s culture but pointing them to the God who loves them within their culture. When we take the time to learn about others, show respect, and meet real needs, the gospel becomes both seen and heard. ...

Prayer Starter- Sunday, September 21, 2025 "Worship the Lord!"

Image
Today, we come together to worship our Lord. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me. EXODUS 8 :1.  Do you need to let go, so you can worship God?  What is holding you back? Heavenly Father,   We pray to be release today so we can praise You and worship You as our only GOD! Help us not to be burdened with our sins, or people that want to hold us back from you.  May the events of my life not pull us away from You. Today I worship You because You are: Our creator... Our Savior... Our Lord... Our Provider... Our Protector... Thank You, Father, for being our God. In the Name of Your Son, Amen.

Prayer Starter - Saturday, September 20, 2025 In the beginning

Image
Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God..." That's enough right there to just praise Him and lift up the Name of our Lord up in prayer. God created and it was good.  Why things are so bad now is all because of sin and selfishness. God created and it is good. Let's praise Him for all that is good. Holy Father who is in Heaven- Blessed be Your Name forever! I lift You up in my prayer this mo4ning because You created the world and it is good. Forgive me for failing You. Help me to trust You.  May Your Spirit guide me daily. Bless many for we are a people who love to give. Through Jesus I pray, Amen.

Prayer Starter - Friday, September 19, 2025 “Here Am I, Send Me”

Image
In Isaiah 6:8 , the prophet hears the Lord asking, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Without hesitation, Isaiah replies, “ Here am I. Send me.” This verse is a powerful picture of surrender and obedience. Isaiah had just seen the holiness of God and was aware of his own unworthiness. But once he was cleansed and forgiven, his heart was ready to respond. His words remind us that God isn’t just looking for the most talented, the most experienced, or the most qualified—He is looking for those willing to go where He sends them. Our world is full of people who need hope, love, and truth. Sometimes God’s call means going to another country, but often it simply means being faithful where we are—sharing kindness with a neighbor, offering encouragement at work, or serving in our local church. When we say, “Here am I, send me,” we are giving God permission to use our lives for His purposes, no matter how small or big the assignment may be. Heavenly Father, thank You for calli...

Prayer Starter - Thursday, September 18, 2025 Praying in Challenging Times (Part 2)

Image
We are called to be the Light in the Darkness.  Good Morning, Christian Friend. Hope this message and prayer brightens your day. "The day of the Lord is near for all nations. As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return upon your own head." — Obadiah 1:15 The world is full of unrest, yet God is never caught off guard. Through His Word, He has told us what is coming so that we may live with wisdom, urgency, and hope. Christ, our Redeemer, has already secured our rescue. Our calling now is to share that good news with courage and compassion while there is still time. Sovereign Lord, As the world grows darker and danger surrounds us, remind me that none of this is outside Your plan. You have declared the end from the beginning, and through Your prophets—like Obadiah—and through Christ our Redeemer, You have revealed Your heart and Your purpose. Thank You for sending Jesus, my Kinsman-Redeemer, who as perfect God and sinless man bore the full weight of...

Prayer Starter - Wednesday, September 17, 2025 Walking Humbly in Challenging Times (Part I)

Image
Good morning, Praying Friend - Obadiah 1:1-4 tells us what God will do with people that are full of themselves. The Danger of Pride "Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down," declares the Lord.    — Obadiah 1:4 Obadiah reminds us that pride is not just a human flaw but a spiritual danger. Pride blinds us to our need for God, isolates us from others, and positions us against His will. The Lord resists the proud but gives grace to the humble ( James 4:6 ). When we choose humility, we align our hearts with His and invite His lifting hand at the right time. Lord Most High, Thank You for the sobering reminder in Obadiah that no height of pride or self-exaltation can stand before Your holy judgment. Teach my heart to tremble at the dangers of arrogance, resentment, and unforgiveness. Where pride lurks, humble me; where bitterness festers, cleanse me; where vengeance whispers, silence me with Your peace. Lift my eyes ...

Prayer Starter - Tuesday, September 16, 2025 - "Praying a Blessing on Others"

Image
Good Morning, The book of Ruth is a beautiful story of loss, faithfulness, and restoration that ends with great joy—the birth of a child who would become the grandfather of King David. Prayer is woven throughout the story, beginning with intercession and vows that show deep care for one another, even in the midst of grief. Most of the prayers in Ruth are blessings. Boaz blesses his workers and Ruth, Naomi blesses Boaz, and the townspeople bless Ruth, her marriage, and her future children. These blessings are more than kind words—they recognize God’s hand at work and call on the Lord to pour out His goodness on others. This story reminds us that prayer is not just for asking but also for blessing. We can make it a habit to speak blessings over those we meet, those who bring good news, and those who live with courage and faithfulness. A blessing can be simple—“God bless you today”—or it can speak to someone’s past, present, and future, as the women of Bethlehem did for Ruth and Naomi. ...
