Prayer Starter - Thursday, July 31, 2025 "Talking to God"

Image
Good Morning, Friend - "Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." ( Hebrews 4:16 ). Sometimes new Christians are nervous about praying. Let's face it sometimes mature Christians are not sure how to pray.  Especially when we feel empty, alone, or guilty, we often just don't know how or what to pray.  We assume there is only one way to pray or we might feel like if we don't pray the right thing, God will be upset with us. The good news is God doesn't expect perfection in our prayers.  I’ve often said prayer is defined as “talking to God.” And that is true - but I’ve found that prayer time can consist of much more. For instance, it has led me to moments of silent meditation, quiet listening for His leading, or even singing out what was on my heart at that moment.  It's really about building a relationship with God - that is what He wants.  Spend sometime talkin...

Prayer Starter - Wednesday, July 30, 2025 - Prayer for the Lost

Image
Good Morning - “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Romans 8:38-39 F ather, this morning, I intercede for those wandering in darkness and doubt. May they be reminded that Your love surpasses all barriers and challenges.  Help these struggling souls  see that no situation can separate them from Your divine love and care.  Lord, draw them back into Your light, where restoration and peace abound.  Place me where I can assist them the most if it is Your will. I pray that Your Spirit will lead them to salvation.  Some of these lost souls I am deeply concerned about. Some of these lost souls I have had on my mind for a long, long time.  Today, Father, I pray for the one (or ones) named _______________, that I am have on my heart.  May I pray...

Prayer Starter, Tuesday, July 29, 2025 "By the Lord"

Image
"When pe ople’s steps follow the  Lord ,      God is pleased with their ways." Psalm 37:23 NCV Other versions The following is my summary from a book by Chad Bird   Untamed Prayers: 365 Daily Devotions on Christ in the Book of Psalms. Most Bibles say Psalm 37:23 like this: “The steps of a man are established by the LORD.” That’s a good translation, but in the original Hebrew language, the words are in a different order. It really says, “By the LORD the steps of a man are established.” That small change helps us focus on the most important part: “By the LORD.” By the LORD , we start our day. We get out of bed, maybe grab something to eat or drink, and think about what God wants us to do that day. Maybe it’s helping at home, being kind to a friend, or doing our best at school or work. Maybe it’s praying for someone who needs help. By the LORD , we walk into each new day—the day God has made for us. Psalm 118:24 says, “This is the day that the LORD has ma...

Good morning, Prayer Warriors! Our scripture this morning is from I Chronicles, 17:16-17 (NIV) 16  Then King David went in and sat before the  Lord , and he said: “Who am I,  Lord  God, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far?   17  And as if this were not enough in your sight, my God, you have spoken about the future of the house of your servant. You,  Lord  God, have looked on me as though I were the most exalted of men. This passage of scripture was the passage John Newton was preaching when he famously wrote the popular hymn, Amazing Grace,   in 1772. The Story of “Amazing Grace” “Amazing Grace” is one of the most beloved hymns in the world, known for its powerful message of redemption and hope. What are your plans?  What are God’s plans?  Are you praying and asking God to guide you so they align? I Peter 2:9     But you are a chosen people,   a royal priesthood,   a holy nation,   God’s special possession,   that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Holy Father, I have dreams, goals and plans.  But the more I grow in Christ the more I realize that I need to ask You to guide my plans to match with Yours.  As I sing songs like, MAKE ME A SERVANT,  I realize that for me to be Your servant I need to align my dreams and plans with Yours. Prayer Starter - Thursday, July 24, 2025 Thanksgiving Thursday

Image
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.   ~  1 Thessalonians 5:18 It's Thanksgiving Thursday.  How are you today?  Many are joyful and all going well. Then it is easy to thank God. But when things are not good in your life and you are feeling lower than low,it is tough. Remember God loves you and is watching over you - even when it doesn't feel like it.  No matter your circumstances, remember the will of God is in Jesus. I have found over the years that when things are not going so well, I can still take the opportunity to focus on the blessings God has provided me.  Thanksgiving isn't meant to be a single day of the year but a life focused on being greatful. When I regularly practice acknowledging God's presence and thanking Him for His blessings, it tends to take the stress level down. When we’re willing to come before Him with gratitude and humility, we realize that no matter what we face, God doesn’t...

Prayer Starter - Wednesday, July 23, 2025 - Great are You Lord!

Image
Psalm 143:3-7  " Great   is the   Lord   and most worthy of praise;  his greatness no one can fathom. One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. They speak of the glorius spendor of your majesty - and I will meditate on your wondeful works. 4  Holy Lord (song) Holy Father God - You are worthy of praise because You are the Lord of Lords. Your greatness is not anything we can imagine or ever understand. Often our forefathers would tell their children of the great work You did; but sadly, more recently generations ignore You glorious spendor. We have not shown You the praise we should - for that forgive us. Help us speak of Your glorious spendor - speak of your majesty! Until then, may Your Spirit help us meditate on Your wonderful works. Continue your prayer... remember to be specific! By the grace of Your Son, Amen *** Lord, Lead me to one soul today Prayer Text Prayer Requests to: 979 - 800 - 3415 Join our Morning Prayer S...

Prayer Starter - Tuesday, July 22, 2025 Oh Lord, Our Lord, How Majestic is Your Name!

Image
Good Morning - One of my favorite songs is " O, Lord, Our Lord, How Majestic is Your Name ."  It comes directly from Psalm 8 .  We have prayed some heavy concerns the last few days. Let's pray a prayer of praise and thanksgiving to God this morning. Oh, Lord, Our Lord, How majestic is Your Name. I wake up this morning, knowing You are the God of all gods and no god is as great as You are. Help me walk today as Your child. Help me to serve today because I want to be a servant like You, Lord. Oh, Lord, Our Lord, I praise Your Name because You are the God of Heavens and earth. May Your Spirit watch over me this day.  I am so glad to be called a child of God. Thank You, Lord, for loving me. Continue your prayer. In the Name of Jesus, we lift our prayer to You, O, Lord!  Amen. Lord , our Lord,      how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory      in the heavens. 2  Through the praise of children and...

Prayer Starter - Monday, July 21, 2025 -- "Psalm 23 - Watch for a Blue Monday"

Image
It's summer time, so I hope you are not having a Blue Monday. However, even in the best situation, sometimes Blue Monday's hit. Depression isn’t something that disappears with a quick fix or a well-meaning phrase. It runs deeper than what a bandage can cover, and at times, the last thing a person needs is a verse or a cheerful word from someone who hasn’t lived the reality of mental and emotional pain. There are moments in life when we don't need advice—we need presence. We need someone to sit with us, to reach out a hand—not to fix us, but simply to be there. And sometimes, the hardest part is when even that helping hand feels out of reach. In those dark, silent places, hope can feel distant, if not altogether lost. But hope does remain—even if it feels faint. The Psalms give voice to the cries of the soul in its deepest anguish. They offer a sacred language for pain, for grief, and for the waiting. We do ourselves and others a disservice when we minimize mental health ...
