Monday, March 30, 2026 Psalm 108-109 Confident Praise in the Middle of a Crisis / Preparing for Holy Week

Good Morning -

Psalm 108 and 109 sit side by side, showing two very real parts of the life of a faithful man or woman of God. A faithful person will have confidence in God and at the same time be seen crying out in distress.

Psalm 108 is bold and steady. David begins with confidence: “My heart, O God, is steadfast.” Even before the victory comes, he chooses to praise. He remembers God’s faithfulness and declares trust, knowing that God will bring help and deliverance. It’s a reminder that praise is not just for after the breakthrough - it’s something we choose in the middle of the struggle.

Then comes Psalm 109 - raw, emotional, and honest. David pours out his pain as he faces betrayal, false accusations, and deep hurt. This psalm reminds us that God invites our real prayers, not polished ones. When we are wounded or misunderstood, we don’t have to hide it—we can bring it fully to Him.

David uses these psalms to teach us:

  • We can praise God with confidence, even before things change
  • We can pour out our pain honestly, without fear
  • God is big enough to handle both our worship and our wounds

Life often holds both at the same time - faith and struggle, praise and pain. These psalms show us that walking with God means bringing all of it to Him.

Stand firm. Speak honestly. Trust fully.

Lord, help my heart remain steady in You, even when life feels uncertain. I choose to praise You for who You are, and I also bring You my pain and struggles. Hear my cries, strengthen my faith, and remind me that You are with me in every battle.Through the blood of Jesus, I pray; Amen.

Tie-in to Holy Week

Before the resurrection, there is both praise and pain.
Palm branches and a cross.
Crowds and loneliness.

But through it all, Jesus remained steadfast—just like Psalm 108—and prayerful—just like Psalm 109.

And because of that… Sunday was coming.

Lord, Lead me to one soul today.
