Prayer Starter - Thursday, December 25, 2025 The Gift of Emmanuel - God with Us


Merry Christmas.  Good morning, friend:

“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).
— Matthew 1:23

From the very beginning, God’s desire has been to dwell with His people. The promise of Emmanuel -God with us — is the fulfillment of that longing. In Jesus Christ, God did not remain distant or unreachable. He stepped into our world, our struggles, and our suffering.

Emmanuel reminds us that God is present in every season of life. When we feel alone, He is with us. When we walk through uncertainty, He walks beside us. Jesus experienced human weakness, sorrow, and temptation, yet without sin, so that we could know God not just as Creator, but as Companion and Savior.

The gift of Emmanuel assures us that we never face life on our own. God’s presence brings comfort, guidance, and hope. Because He is with us now, we can trust Him with our future. Emmanuel is not only a Christmas promise  —  it is a daily truth that strengthens our faith and anchors our hearts.

Thank you for joining me in prayer these past 9 months.  I hope you will continue to pray daily as we go into 2026.  May His gifts continue to overflow in your life.

Holy Father,

Thank You for the gift of Jesus. For without Him we could not be saved!

I pray You will bless each of my praying friends today. May they have the peace that only comes from You, their Father.  As we go into a new year, may we each remember You are present in every season of our lives.

Continue to prayer your prayer.

Lord, I wrap up my prayer asking You to provide comfort and joy to our brother and sisters who worship You across this county and around this world. I pray for my friends, like Lois, who is struggling with a lot of physical pain. Please give her relief as only You can.

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Assurance is God’s gift of steady confidence in His promises. In a world filled with uncertainty, God offers His children the peace of knowing that our salvation, hope, and future rest securely in Him—not in our own strength or performance. “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” — 1 John 5:13 God’s assurance reminds us that we belong to Him. When doubts arise or fears whisper that we are not enough, His Word speaks truth: we are held by His grace. Our confidence is not rooted in how tightly we hold onto God, but in how firmly He holds onto us. Through assurance, God calms anxious hearts and strengthens our faith. We move forward not in fear, but in trust—resting in the certainty that nothing can separate us from His love.
