Prayers Starter - Thursday, December 18, 2025 The Gift of Assurance


Assurance is God’s gift of steady confidence in His promises. In a world filled with uncertainty, God offers His children the peace of knowing that our salvation, hope, and future rest securely in Him—not in our own strength or performance.

“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” — 1 John 5:13

God’s assurance reminds us that we belong to Him. When doubts arise or fears whisper that we are not enough, His Word speaks truth: we are held by His grace. Our confidence is not rooted in how tightly we hold onto God, but in how firmly He holds onto us.

Through assurance, God calms anxious hearts and strengthens our faith. We move forward not in fear, but in trust—resting in the certainty that nothing can separate us from His love.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of assurance — the confidence that comes from knowing I belong to You. When doubts arise and fears try to shake my faith, remind me that my hope is secure in Your promises, rather than my own strength.

Help me rest in the truth of Your Word and trust that You are faithful to finish the work You began in me. Let Your peace guard my heart and mind, and help me walk each day with confidence, knowing that nothing can separate me from Your love.

Lord, be with my family, my church family and my prayer Starter family.  Some of us are strong and confident in Your assurance, grace, and love. Others of us struggle. I pray for all of us - may those who have a strong faith support those who confidence is hitting pot holes in the road of life.

Help all of us to love You and trust Your faithfulness.

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship.
