Wednesday, April 16, 2026 - Psalm 129




Psalm 129 provides a powerful framework for reflecting on life today. The psalm speaks of perseverance, injustice, faith, and trust in God’s ultimate justice - themes that remain deeply relevant in contemporary society.  Psalm 129 is a Song of Ascents, traditionally sung by pilgrims traveling to Jerusalem. It reflects on Israel’s long history of oppression while affirming that, despite repeated attacks, God has preserved His people.  For us, we can reflect on our history's significant struggles, such as wars, civil rights battles, economic hardships, and social divisions. Like Israel, the nation has endured many trials yet continues to persevere. For us as individuals, this song also resonates with personal challenges such as illness, loss, or injustice, reminding believers of God’s sustaining power.

Let's Pray:

Holy Father, help us to be like the traveling jews, trusting that hardships do not have the final word for us. We are a resilient people, rooted in Your love and faithfulness.  Help us not give up hope, but journey on, step-by-step, serving You along the way. 

We love You, Lord,

In Your Son's Name, I pray.

Merry Christmas.  Good morning, friend: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us ). — Matthew 1:23 From the very beginning, God’s desire has been to dwell with His people. The promise of Emmanuel - God with us  — is the fulfillment of that longing. In Jesus Christ, God did not remain distant or unreachable. He stepped into our world, our struggles, and our suffering.
