Monday, May 18, 2026 Proverbs 26 Prayers to Help me Handle Foolishishness

A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey,
and a rod for the back of fools.
Answer not a fool according to his folly,
lest you be like him yourself.
Answer a fool according to his folly,
lest he be wise in his own eyes.   Proverbs 26:3-5

Proverbs 26 reminds us to be careful with our words, attitudes, and habits. The chapter speaks honestly about foolish behavior, gossip, laziness, and pride, showing how these things can quietly damage relationships and weaken our character. It also reminds us that kindness and wisdom should guide the way we respond to others. God calls us to grow beyond careless living and reflect a heart shaped by humility and self-control. Wisdom is not only knowing what is right—it is choosing to live it each day.

Lord, help me guard my words and actions today. Keep me from pride, gossip, and careless attitudes that can hurt others. Teach me to walk in wisdom, humility, and self-control. Fill my heart with kindness and patience so my life reflects Your goodness in every conversation and decision. Amen.
