Sunday, May 31, 2026 Praying like Jesus #1 Prayer to See Clearly

Image
Good Morning. We are beginning a 15 day prayer series, "Prayer of Jesus." Prayers of Jesus, No. 1:   We are learning to pray like Jesus. The Gift of Seeing Clearly "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do."   Matthew 11:25–26 Notice what Jesus chose to praise God for. Not a miracle. Not a victory. Not power or influence or the applause of the crowd. In this quiet, tender moment, Jesus lifted His heart to the Father in gratitude for revelation — for the breathtaking grace that truth can be known at all. And then He smiled at the upside-down way God works. The wise and learned (those who had spent lifetimes building towers of knowledge) somehow missed it. But the humble, the childlike, the ones who came with open hands instead of full ones? Their eyes were wide open. They saw what scholars could not. ...

Saturday, May 30, 2026 Prayers for Loved Ones and Friends

Image
Proverbs 18:24 “There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Heavenly Father, I thank You for the precious gift of my family and friends — each one a blessing I do not take for granted. This morning, I lift them up to You, trusting that You know their names, their needs, and the silent burdens they carry that no one else can see.  Remember to Name them. Let God know you are serious and tell Him who these people are that you love so much . Cover them with Your mercy. Grant rest to their weary minds and strength to their tired hearts. Where there is worry, bring peace. Where there is sadness, bring joy, for joy surpasses all understanding and cannot be shaken by circumstance. Guide their steps today. Guard their hearts against fear and doubt. And in the quiet moments of their day, let them feel the warmth of Your presence, reminding them they are never alone.  Thank You, Lord, for these special people. In Jesus' name, Amen. Proverbs 27:9 “Perfume and incense bring j...

Friday, May 29, 2026 Final Thought & Prayer for Proverbs

Image
From beginning to end, Proverbs reminds us that true wisdom begins with a reverence for God. Throughout this journey, we have seen how our words, choices, relationships, attitudes, work, and daily habits shape the kind of life we live. Proverbs teaches us that wisdom is not simply knowledge - it is learning to walk closely with God each day. (And remember, we grow closer to God when we spend time in prayer). Throughout the book we read of the themes of humility, honesty, kindness, diligence, patience, self-control, and compassion. It warns us about pride, anger, foolish decisions, careless speech, and drifting away from God’s truth. At the same time, it encourages us to trust the Lord in every season of life and to seek His guidance above our own understanding. Proverbs also reminds us of the value of strong families, faithful friendships, peaceful homes, and hearts that honor God. Whether speaking about work, finances, integrity, marriage, or our treatment of others, the message remai...

Thursday, May 28, 2026 Proverbs 31:21–31 — A Prayer for Faithful Living

Image
Proverbs 31:21–31 — A Prayer for Faithful Living As we continue to read through the final Proverb and wrap up our devotionals from this book of wisdom, this proverb paints a beautiful picture of a life grounded in wisdom, faithfulness, and reverence for God. The woman described in these verses cares for her family, works diligently, speaks with kindness, and faces the future with confidence because her trust is in the Lord. Her life reflects strength, compassion, and steady character. These verses remind us that faithfulness is often found in everyday moments:  caring for loved ones, speaking with wisdom, serving others, and trusting God through every season.  Whether at home, at work, or in ministry, God honors a heart that seeks to live faithfully and love others well.  The closing verses remind us of what matters most. Charm and outward beauty fade with time, but a heart that fears and honors the Lord carries lasting value. God’s wisdom shines through a life l...

Wednesday, May 27, 2026 Praying for Purpose (Proverbs 31:16-20)

Image
Good morning, prayer partners- Proverbs 31:16–20 " She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy." There is a quiet heroism in these verses. The woman described here is not waiting for the perfect moment or a grander calling. She is present — eyes open to opportunity, hands already moving.  She is working for a purpose. She considers, then acts. She buys a field. She plants. She spins. These are not glamorous tasks, but she does them with her whole self — vigorously, the text says. Her lamp burns late not out of anxiety, but out of devotion to what she has been given to do. What sstrikes.me most, though, is the turn at the end. After all that industry and di...

Tuesday, May 26, 2026 Praying for God to be Our Protector

Heavenly Father, Today I come to You, grateful that You are my shelter, my strength, and my protector. When life feels uncertain, I find peace in knowing that I can run to You for safety and comfort. Your presence is my strong tower, and I trust You to watch over me each day. Lord, please give me wisdom and understanding as I make decisions and walk through the challenges of life. Help me avoid harmful choices, discouragement, and anything that would pull my heart away from You. Keep my mind clear and my spirit steady. Let Your truth calm my fears and ease my worries. I place my home, my family, my health, and my daily responsibilities into Your loving hands. Thank You for surrounding me with Your care and faithfulness. Watch over my coming and going, and guide me in Your ways. Help me live each day with peace, confidence, and trust, knowing You are always near. In the holy name of Jesus, I pray. Amen. Good morning, friends. I had some technical challenges this morning, but God i...

Monday, May 25, 2026 Pray for a Life of Diligence & Service (Proverbs 31:10-15)

"A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies." — Proverbs 31:10 On Memorial Day, we pause to remember those whose worth the world could not fully measure — men and women who rose before dawn, who labored in the dark, who gave everything for others. The noble woman of Proverbs mirrors that spirit: her value was not in praise or recognition, but in faithful sacrifice. The fallen soldiers we honor today lived the same truth. They served not for fame, but out of love. Today, let their example call us to a deeper faithfulness — one that trusts God in the unseen, and gives generously without counting the cost. Lord, we honor those who gave their lives in faithful service. Cultivate in us that same selfless character. May we live worthy of the freedom they secured.  Continue your personal prayer. In the Name of the Savior, Amen. *** Lord, Lead me to one soul today. Prayer Requests T ext Prayer Requests to: 979 - 800 - 3415

Sunday, May 24, 2026 Proverbs 31:1-9 Mother knows best.

Image
Mother Knows Best Based on Proverbs 31:1–9 There's something quietly remarkable about how Proverbs 31 actually begins. We tend to jump straight to the "virtuous woman" passage — but before we get there, a mother pulls her son aside and speaks plainly. These opening verses are her words to him. Her instruction. Her heart. She doesn't mince words. She warns him about the women who will drain his energy and the wine that will cloud his judgment. She tells him to keep his head clear and his character clean. And then she says something that cuts to the core of what real leadership looks like: use your position to help people who can't help themselves. Speak up for those without a voice. Defend those without power. If only we would listen to our mothers. What strikes me most is what this mother understood about wisdom. She wasn't just teaching her son how to be successful — she was teaching him how to be good. In her view, those two things weren't the same, and ...

Saturday, May 23, 2026 Proverbs 30:18–33 Humilty & Self-Control

Image
Proverbs 30:18–33 reminds us that God’s world is filled with both mystery and wisdom. Agur looks at creation: the eagle soaring, the snake moving across a rock, ships crossing the sea, and stands in awe of things too wonderful to fully understand. Yet in the middle of that beauty, he also warns about pride, selfishness, immorality, and stirring up conflict. The proverb teaches that wisdom is often found in small and humble places. Ants prepare ahead, locusts work together, and tiny creatures survive because they live wisely within God’s design. In the same way, believers are called to walk humbly, avoid foolish pride, and pursue peace instead of conflict. True strength is not loud arrogance or self-promotion. It is quiet wisdom, self-control, and a life that honors God in both words and actions. Lord, teach me to live with humility and wisdom. Help me learn from the order of Your creation and guard my heart from pride, anger, and selfish ambition. Give me self-control in my words a...

Friday, May 22, 2026 Pray for Humility before Our God (Proverbs 30:1–17)

Image
Good Morning, Friends: Today we will split Proverbs 30 and focus on the first 17 verses. The passage was written by Agur, who we know little about. Agur, whose name means “collector” or “gatherer,” is introduced in Proverbs 30 as a humble seeker of wisdom. His father’s name, Jakeh, means “pious” or “obedient.” Agur openly admits his human limitations and stands in awe of God’s greatness, making humility one of the central themes of his writings. While some traditions connect him to King Solomon, most scholars believe he was an independent wise man, possibly from outside Israel. Proverbs 30 is known for Agur’s memorable numerical sayings and his balanced prayer asking for neither poverty nor riches, but daily dependence on God. “Every word of God is flawless;      he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. 6  Do not add to his words,      or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar. 7  “Two things I ask of you, Lord ;  ...

Thursday, May 21, 2026 Proverbs 29 Prayer for Leadership

Image
A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father,      but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.   - Proverbs 29:3 NIV In a world full of noise and frustration, Proverbs 29 encourages us to slow down, seek wisdom, and allow God to shape our hearts. When we place our trust in Him instead of people or pride, we discover lasting security and hope. Read the proverb and look for these themes of attitudes that can lead people from God: pride, anger, and stubbornness.  Godly leadership, self-control, and wise words matter more. Our churches, communities, and homes need more of us to listen to correction, walk in humility, and trust the Lord to find stability and peace in Him. Lord, help me to walk in humility and wisdom today. Teach me to listen, to speak with grace, and to trust You above my fears or pride. Shape my heart so my life reflects Your peace and goodness. Continue your personal prayer.... build that relationship with God, our Father. Thank Y...
