Sunday, May 17, 2026 Proverbs 25 - Pray for Humility & Restraint

If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;
    if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.
22
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head,
    and the Lord will reward you.  (Proverbs 25:21-22)

Proverbs 25 reminds us that wisdom is often revealed through humility, patience, and self-control. Gentle words can calm conflict, while pride and careless speech can damage relationships. The writer encourages us to live with restraint, honesty, and kindness, trusting God to guide our hearts and reactions. In a loud and impatient world, Proverbs 25 calls believers to reflect the quiet strength of godly character. Sometimes the greatest witness we have is not in what we say loudly, but in how we respond with grace.
