Proverbs 21

Proverbs 21 reminds us that God sees far beyond outward appearances. People may justify their own actions, but the Lord examines the heart. This chapter calls us to live with humility, righteousness, and compassion rather than pride or selfish ambition.

True wisdom is not found in wealth, power, or winning every battle. It is found in trusting God, doing what is right, and walking each day faithfully. Proverbs 21 also reminds us that kindness toward others matters deeply to the Lord.

A person may think their own ways are right,
    but the Lord weighs the heart.

3 To do what is right and just
    is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. vs 2-3

Father, You see beyond my words and actions and look directly into my heart. Search me today and help me walk with humility, honesty, and compassion. Guard me from pride, selfish ambition, and trusting in worldly success more than in You. Teach me to choose righteousness even when it is difficult and to show kindness to those around me. Lord, help me remember that true wisdom is found in faithfully following You each day. Shape my heart so my life reflects Your goodness, mercy, and truth through Jesus Christ. Amen.
