Look at the scriptures:
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
This Psalm shows us what adoration looks like. We’re to “praise” or “bless” his name, and we’re to remember all of His benefits and blessings. These two things go together for a reason.
For example, if I want to adore the Lord, I begin to remember all the things that God has done for me. I recall when I first learned about Jesus. I remember accepting Him as my Lord and Savior and being baptized in His Name. In the process of thanking Him and reflecting on His goodness and faithfulness, I naturally thank Him and praise Him for who He is - and I lose sight of my anxiety.
So the next time you’re praying and you’re struggling with what and how to pray, begin with a simple adoration. Bless His name and remember His benefits. We can trust that when we get our focus upward on Him instead of inward on our problems, things will begin to change for the better.
Let's begin this morning,
Holy Father, Thank you for being our God. Thank you for all the promises You have blessed me with. Thank you for...
Bless Your Holy Name, Father. Bless my soul.
In His Name,
Amen
