Prayer Starter - Thursday, May 1, 2025
Good Morning,
As we wrap up our "A.C.T.S." acrostic to encourage us in prayer, let's review the first three letters. A is for Adoration. C is for Confessing and T is for Thanksgiving. Today's letter is "S for Supplication.
Supplication is the ask. It is when we ask God to protect us or care for us. The Bible strongly emphasizes that this takes place AFTER we give God the glory through adoration, confession and thanksgiving.
So what does the Bible saying about SUPPLICATION?
Hear the supplication of your servant and of your people Israel when they pray toward this place. Hear from heaven, your dwelling place, and when you hear, forgive. 1 Kings 8:30
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Philippians 4:6
May my supplication come before you; deliver me according to your promise. Psalm 119:170
Let's pray this morning (please adjust to make it personal to you).
Dear Lord, our Heavenly Father:
I lift Your Name on high because You are my God, the Creator of all. I praise your name because you sent Your Son to die on a cross for my sins. Thank you, Lord, for loving me - a sinner who is unworthy. I have sinned and I ask You to forgive me.
Father, I want to confess Your Name to all men. Help me to be bold and help me be a light to others. I am thankful o' Lord for all you have done for me; for saving me, for protecting me and even challenging me to become like You.
Heavenly Father, please listen to my prayer. Listen to my petition and supplication. I ask you to continue to watch over and care for me....
Your thoughts
Amen
