Prayer Starter - Tuesday, April 15, 2025


The world we live in often can beat us up and we can fall into a trap of negativity or even depression.  This morning's verse is from a prophet that was in the midst of serious challenges, yet he spoke of seeking God's plans for his life and finding his purpose. 

Read with me this passage from God's Word: Jeremiah 29:11-14

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

Good Morning.  This week we are focusing our prayer starters on finding our purpose in Christ.  

Here is our Prayer Starter. Please fill in the blanks as you pray and keep praying. God will build your faith, the Spirit will guide your path and you will find hope even if things feel hopeless.

Lord, help me to turn to you in moments of desperation, to call on you, pray to you and seek you with all of my heart.  Light my path with the hope that your promises bring. 

In the craziness of this world, Lord, help me to consult you in my plans and find peace in Your counsel.  Whether things are going well or times are frustrating, remind me that Your purpose will prevail even when I cannot understand it.

Continue to ask God to guide you. 

Lord, right now, I am ____________________________ and I need Your Spirit to _________________________________.  

Lord, You give us purpose, and Your plans are for our ultimate good.

In Jesus Name,

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship.
