Prayer Starter - Friday, May 16, 2025


 "Two are better than one,

    because they have a good return for their labor:"  Ecclesiates 4:9

Wow, what a blessing yesterday!  I hope you prayed as I did. I had a busy day at work, but every time my phone dinged, I said, "Lord, one of my friends has someone on their mind. I am lifting them up in my prayer, too!"

A few things happen when we share our prayer requests with one another. 1st, we are telling God, these people are important to us. 2nd, we are telling each other praying is important to us. 3rd, it says, we care about our friends and those that are important to them.

Do not forsake your friend or a friend of your family - Proverbs 27:10

We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.  2 Thess. 1:3

Friday is a good day to continue our prayers for family and friends.  Today, focus on those that are struggling with their faith.  You know who you need to pray for. I will get your day started with this prayer:

Dear God,
Thank you for the people praying with me this morning. I am so thankful to know that others are praying with me. I pray for them, too. Whether they are praying at the exact moment I am or praying at lunch time or in the early evening. Their prayers have helped my faith be even stronger. I hope the same is true for them.
Lord, I pray Your Spirit will help us all stay connected to You.
Thank You for Jesus, our best friend.

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship.
