Our thoughts this morning. 

From the beginning of creation we see examples of God inviting man in His creative work by allowing man to name the animals. The plan was for man to co-labor with God. We see biblical examples of the Lord involving humans in activities  He could easily have done Himself - and done more effectively.  Did God really need Moses to say, "Let my people go"?  Was it required for Ezekiel to prophesy over the valley of dry bones in order for God to raise them up? If our Lord can cause stones to cry out in worship (Luke 19:40), surely He does not need a person like me to accomplish His purposes.

Blaise Pascal said, "God has instituted prayer so as to confer upon his creatures the dignity of being causes."
This is a powerful suggestion.  We are not merely passive stage props, but we are creative partners with God in the writing, directing and design that occurs daily.

Prayer is much more than asking God for this or that. It is a partnership with Him by drawing into deep communion with His Spirit.  In prayer He invites us to join Him in the directing the course of His world.

Heavenly Father, 
Your are such a good, good father. Thank You for loving me. Thank You for saving me. Thank You for listening to me. This morning as I pray, I pray You will use me to help You. I dedicate my life to You. Help me to serve You in my daily walk with You.


Continue your prayer.

Today's Prayer Starter Good morning! As we begin this five day journey of praying specifically to build our relationship with God, let's start with a prayer of adoration. In Psalm 8 , David prays a prayer of adoration.  "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of yor foes, to still the enemy and the avenger." Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship.
