Prayer Starter - Monday, May 12, 2025
Does prayer matter? It did for Daniel. He risked his life to pray. Prayer is communicating with God. It is not just a religious experience or practice, it is a conversation that is key to building and maintaining our relationship with God.
For many of us, we have given up on prayer - except for the prayer at Sunday School, worship, or maybe a gathering and we ask blessings for our meals. We gave up because (1) we were not working on our relationship with God; and (2) because it did not worked. It didn't work (in our minds) because we did not get the answers we wanted.
When we have a relationship with God, we will get the answers we want, because we will want what God wants. No one can "prove scientifically" that God answers your prayers. However, we can see God answering our prayers daily - if we pay attention. Another way to see God answering prayers is to look to others around us who have experienced the power of prayer and lean on their faith.
11 I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— 12 that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith (Romans Chapter 1).
Let's pray Paul's prayer this morning from the previous few verses (Romans 1:8-10):
"First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world. God, whom I serve in my spirit in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you. Just as Paul prayed this prayer, O Lord, I pray at all times, that Your will be known to me so I can serve You.

Suggestion, continue your prayer this morning. Pray for all the saints. Pray for those that you spoke to yesterday at the worship gathering. Pray for those that you missed seeing. Pray for the church leaders and those that serve.
I will close out my prayer this morning with these words: Thank You, Father, for connecting me to all of these prayer warriors. Most of us struggle to pray as we want to, so help pray as You want us to. In Jesus Name, Amen.
