Prayer Starter - Wednesday, May 7, 2025

Good morning Prayer Warrior:

 As we talk about a "prayer life" verses a "praying life" we need to examine the difference. A prayer life is an activity we squeeze into our busy daily schedule. A praying life is about incorporating prayer (communion)  into our daily life.  So whether I am student in school, retired, or working a 9 to 5, I am walking with God and that means Prayer is talking to God while we are thinking and doing our daily activities together.   God has given me tasks to do and in doing them, I am co-laboring with Him to do His excellent purposes.

Prayer is both how God welcomes us into what He is doing and how we welcome God into what we are doing. As we grow in the practice, the line becomes closer, yea, fuzzy until you can't see the line anymore.  His work is our work. Our work is His work.

Think. Name the task God has asked you to do today.  Imagine doing this work together with Him in prayer. We will pray this morning. We will pray when we eat breakfast, we will pray on the way to work. We pray while we do our work. For we are doing it all for God.

Keep talking to Him as you and the Lord work together.


Dear Lord,

As we get moving today, help me to stay focused on You. No matter what task You have for me today, help me to enjoy the day with You. Let's talk throughout the day. Help me to give honor and praise to You as we engage in our daily tasks.

Thank You, Lord for the opportunity to serve You today.

Today's Prayer Starter Good morning! As we begin this five day journey of praying specifically to build our relationship with God, let's start with a prayer of adoration. In Psalm 8 , David prays a prayer of adoration.  "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of yor foes, to still the enemy and the avenger." You can read the entire Psalm, but this morning use David's prayer to help you tell God why you believe His name is majestic in all the earth.  Try it! Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship. Yet, he still finds reason to hope. Why? Because God’s faithfulness is unwavering. Even when circumstances seem difficult or uncertain, God’s love and compassion never fail.
