Prayer Starter - Sunday, June 15, 2025 - Father's Day


Good Sunday Morning:

I hope this morning is a blessing for you. We traditionally celebrate Father's Day today. While it is not specifically a Christian event, it is a day we can thank our Heavenly Father for the gift of our earthly father.

Proverbs 23:24 (NIV)

"Listen with respect to the father who raised you, and when your mother grows old, don’t neglect her.

Buy truth—don’t sell it for love or money;
    buy wisdom, buy education, buy insight.
Parents rejoice when their children turn out well;
    wise children become proud parents.
So make your father happy!
    Make your mother proud!" (The Message)

Today, I share with you three prayer starters. You may select one based on your spiritual needs and situation.

Heavenly Father, bless all the dads with Your wisdom, patience, and love. Thank You so much for fathers and all the sacrifices they make out of love. When they feel tired, overwhelmed, and weak, please guide them to be a source of strength and support for their families as they lean on You. Thank You for the gift of fathers. In Jesus' Name; Amen.

Dear God, we pray for the fathers who live on on our memories. Thank you for the blessing they were in our lives. Thank you for the lesson they taught us. Help us remember them with love and respect and to live a life of compassion and grace because they tried to walk with You, our Heavenly Father. In His Name, Amen.

Holy Father,  some of us struggle because we did not have an earthly father that walked with You. Father's Day may be a challenge for us. But thank You for being that Father for us. Father, we come before you today humbled and in awe of Your grace and mercy. Lord, we thank You for the way You have designed what a family is supposed be.  You have ordained to a mother and a father the responsibility to lead their children. However in our sinful ways, it does not always turn out that way. Thank You for those that took their place when earthly parents failed. Thank You for being our God. Help us use this day to be closer to You, the only perfect Father.  In the Name of Your Son, Amen.

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Prayer Starter - Thursday, October 23, 2025. God’s Faithfulness in Every Season

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship.
