Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 19, 2025 "Lost"


Good morning, Prayer Warrior Friends -

The older I get the more often I am temporarily lost or I lose things. I know it can happen when we are younger, too, but the impact on my life seems to be more stressful.  Last night I hurried home from visiting my granddaughter at her work place. The shift manager wasn't treating her right and she felt down, discouraged and a bit depressed.  She was being belittled. She wasn't being encouraged or supported. She felt lost.

This morning I woke up early to consider our thoughts and to pray to God. She was on my mind. My adult children were on my mind and my grandchildren.  The world is in so much chaos and confusion. No wonder so often everyone is feeling at a loss. As I finished my prayer, I opened up my laptop to write a prayer we could share and ponder on a scripture, I realized I had lost my glasses.  Panic took over. I have only a few more minutes to get our message out. I can't see the screen. I can't find the keys on the keypad. I felt lost.  Ever felt this way?

Jesus said in John 15:19, " If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you."   We understand this world is not with God and is actually against God. Jesus is basically saying, You will always feel lost here. 


In the John 16:33, He said, we will always have troubles in the world, but He has overcome the world.

So this morning, pray for the lost. The lost in Christ, those that are feeling lost, and for lost things. Pray the Spirit of God will guide us to stay focused on our Savior.  Yes, we may temporarily lose things on this earth. We may feel lost, but we need to need to remind ourselves we are in Christ and He knows where we are and He is always watching over us. 

Heavenly Father, Thank You for watching over us. The feeling of being lost can be so stressful.  Help me to keep my eye on You and to trust in Your Spirit even when the empty feeling of being lost hits us.  Each of us have a different reason for the feeling, so we will talk to you about our concerns.

Pray and tell God specifically about your losses. (I am praying for my children and grandchildren, but you specify to God your needs).

For the rest of the day, no matter how lonely, empty or lost I feel, I will keep my eye on You. May Your Spirit lift me up so I may share the good news about You to those I meet today. In Jesus precious Name, Amen

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Prayer Starter - Friday, August 29, 2025 "Friday Night Lights"

It's Friday - Game Day.  Friday Night Lights For many of us, Friday night lights bring back memories of gathering with family and friends at the local football field. The lights shining against the night sky signaled more than just a game—it was a place of community, excitement, and hope. In life, we also walk through nights that feel dark. The worries of health, family, or the unknown can weigh heavily. But just as stadium lights brighten the field, the light of Christ shines into our lives. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” ( John 8:12 ). Dear Heavenly Father, many of us are long past the days of Friday night lights; others of us, have a game tonight. Be with us as we are a community - we are family.
