Prayer Starter - Tuesday, June 24, 2025 Prayer for the Spirit to Enlightent His People


Good Morning,

Here is a prayer of Paul's that he wrote for the Christians in Ephesus. Let's pray it together for our fellow Christians.

For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength  he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.  And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. Ephesians 1:15-27 (NIV)

What a blessing to live in these heavenly spaces, even while walking on the earth, we can connect to our Jesus who has risen to the heavenly realms. We pray for the Spirit of our God to give us wisdom and revelation (knowledge of His Will).

So as Paul wrote in the 17th verse, let's keep praying that the God of our Lord, continues to bless us to know the hope we have as a holy people. Let's us pray for the power of God to be active in our lives. Pray with me.

Holy Father God,

We pray for that our heart will know the hope which You called us, the riches of Your glorious inheritance, and the great power we have in Christ.  We often fail to remember You are far above all rule and authority, power and dominion. Forgives us for failing to trust You. May we be a shining light to others, including our Christian brothers and sisters, as we work together in faith to serve You and let Your word be known to all.

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. It's Friday - Game Day.  Friday Night Lights For many of us, Friday night lights bring back memories of gathering with family and friends at the local football field. The lights shining against the night sky signaled more than just a game—it was a place of community, excitement, and hope. In life, we also walk through nights that feel dark. The worries of health, family, or the unknown can weigh heavily. But just as stadium lights brighten the field, the light of Christ shines into our lives. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” ( John 8:12 ). Dear Heavenly Father, many of us are long past the days of Friday night lights; others of us, have a game tonight. Be with us as we are a community - we are family.
