PrayerStarter - Monday, June 2, 2025

Good Monday morning,

We have added a few folks to our text list, so as a  reminder, these go out every morning around 7:15 a.m. (You may also find this devotional thought on a social media site). Read it whenever you want, but the intent is to get our day started with prayer.  We share one or two Bible verses and then start a prayer that you can personalize as you build your relationship with God.

We have been praying for boldness to speak the Name of Jesus and not be ashamed.

Acts 4: 23 On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. 24 When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and everything in them. ..

29 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness....

31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.

Peter and John were spreading the news about Jesus and the religious leaders at the time did not appreciate it, so they threaten them. Yet God worked through them. They were released and returned to the other believers. Then the whole church prayed (see Acts 4 for the entire story and prayer). What did they do, they went back to proclaiming the news of Jesus - and this time with great boldness!

When one is ready to serve the Lord, the first thing is to pray.  And when the whole church prays, get ready for a shock!

Good Morning, Lord,

We all want to serve You. But like Moses, we can sure come up with excuses NOT to!  Holy Father, we pray first, You will forgive our sinful weakness and failures for we are a distracted bunch and we too can find excuses not to serve You.

Next, Lord, we pray that Your Spirit will flood our hearts, soul and minds and encourage us to be bold. We know boldness is not necessarily loud, in fact, it often is very quiet.  The boldness we are seeking is CONFIDENCE - confidence not in ourselves, but confidence in You.

Continue to pray and praise God for all He is doing for you. When finished praying this morning, Read the passage below to find a blessing we have from Him.

Isaiah 30:18 (Link to NIV)

"But God’s not finished. He’s waiting around to be gracious to you.  He’s gathering strength to show mercy to you.

God takes the time to do everything right—everything.
Those who wait around for him are the lucky ones."
