Prayer Starter - Friday, June 11, 2025 Jesus is the way, the truth and the life!

 Romans 3:23:

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Humanity has a universal need for salvation due to sin. 

Romans 6:23:

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."  The apostle Paul continues to write in Romans to contrast the consequences of sin with the gift of eternal life through Christ. 

John 14:6:

"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

We all need Jesus. He is the way, the truth and the life. We have a sin problem, friends. We have been sentenced and we need our sentence commuted.   The answer, a relationship with Jesus.

This is another reason we spend each morning together in prayer. To pray for each of to know God and his Son, Jesus, so His Spirit may guide us and lead us. We need Jesus for salvation. So two thoughts this morning as you pray:

1. Do you have that true relationship with Jesus?

2. Who do you want to see have a relationship with Jesus?

Oh, Lord, our Lord, How Excellent is Your Name,

I am so blessed to be able to call You, "Father" and know Your Son, Jesus. Please continue to bless me with Your Holy Spirit to watch over and guide me. Keep me from secret sin. Keep me pure as a new lamb of God.

As I continue to pray with my friends this morning, I want to pray for that special friend I have on my heart. I pray for ________ (Name them) as I want them to know Jesus.  May the Spirit of God help them find salvation in Christ and may You use me as tool as You see fit to help them know Christ.

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship.
