Prayer Starter - Saturday, July 5, 2025


Good Saturday morning:

Psalm 2 addressed nations that rebel against God.  It reminds us that God is sovereign and in charge. Verse 10 and 11:

Therefore, you kings, be wise;   be warned, you rulers of the earth.

11 Serve the Lord with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling.
As we arise this morning, let's pray for the leaders of our land. Let's pray for those that rule the land and ask God to guide them and pray the Spirit of God reminds them of who is in charge.

Praise be to our God of all gods, please guide our rulers and those responsible for our land to know You are God. Help them to lead our country in a way that is pleasing to You for you are the ruler of the earth and the heavens.

Forgive us of our foolish ways and bless us as individuals, churches, communities and our nation.

In the Name of Jesus,

Amen

Lead us to One Soul today, Lord.  Pray for those lost in the central areas floods.

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship. Yet, he still finds reason to hope. Why? Because God’s faithfulness is unwavering. Even when circumstances seem difficult or uncertain, God’s love and compassion never fail.
