Prayer Starter - Sunday, July 20, 2025 "Let's Sing Praises Unto the Lord!"


Good Sunday morning Friend -

Join me in song and prayer this Sunday morning.

Singing is a way of expressing our love and gratitude to the Lord. My hope is that these Psalms encourage you to sing to the Lord and praise Him for His goodness.

Psalm 13:6 “I will sing to the LORD, Because He has dealt bountifully with me.”

Psalm 30:4 “Sing to the LORD, O you His saints, and praise His holy name.”

Psalm 68:32 "Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth, sing praise to the Lord.”

Psalm 7:17 “I will thank the Lord for His righteousness and sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.”

Psalm 33:3 “Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy.”

Oh, Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Your Name.

I praise You for all You have done for me. As I prepare my day, I look forward to joining the rest of my church family in worshipping You. For You, Lord, are wonderful, gracious, and loving in all the earth.  Watch over us as we do our best to serve You. Oh, Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Your Name!

Today's Prayer Starter Good morning! As we begin this five day journey of praying specifically to build our relationship with God, let's start with a prayer of adoration. In Psalm 8 , David prays a prayer of adoration.  "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of yor foes, to still the enemy and the avenger." You can read the entire Psalm, but this morning use David's prayer to help you tell God why you believe His name is majestic in all the earth.  Try it! Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship.
