Prayer Starter - Thursday, July 17, 2025 "A Thursday Prayer to the God of Grace"


Gracious God,

As my week moves forward and the day ahead begins to press in, I pause now to acknowledge Your presence and to offer You my thanks. Thank You for the quiet ways You’ve been at work in my life—through the ordinary and the unexpected, the peaceful and the difficult. I recognize Your hand in the blessings I’ve received already this week, and I ask for Your continued guidance and grace for the days yet to come.

In the midst of a full schedule and the weight of responsibilities, it’s easy to drift from awareness of You. But this moment of morning prayer grounds me—it slows my pace and reminds me that You are not only the source of my strength, but also the One to whom my life belongs.

You are the Alpha and the Omega, the Creator of all things, and the One who holds my future. May all that I do today be done in Your name and with a heart aligned to Your will. I long to walk in step with Your Word, trusting that each step brings me closer to the life You have promised in eternity with You.

Lord, let this prayer be a quiet reminder that You are with me in each breath I take. Keep my heart attuned to You, especially when the day grows busy and burdens threaten to steal my peace. Teach me to live this day with intention and faith, remembering that I am never alone.

Thank You, Lord.

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship.
