Prayer Starter - Tuesday, July 15, 2025 "Prayer for Patience"


Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. - Deuteronomy 31:6 

I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. - Psalm 40:1 

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. - Romans 8:28


Gracious Lord,

Teach me the grace of patience — with life, with others, and with myself. Too often, I rush ahead, seeking answers and solutions before their appointed time. Help me to rest in the wisdom of Your timing, surrendering my desire for control to the unfolding of Your perfect will.

Shape my heart to reflect Your patience. Where I am quick to react or slow to understand, grant me the gentleness of spirit to pause, to listen, and to wait. By Your Spirit, still my anxious thoughts. Teach me to remain calm and rooted in faith, even when the path is unclear.

Lord, I confess my struggle in this area. Yet, I trust that Your grace is sufficient to sustain me. Strengthen me to persevere with humility, bringing honor to Your name through the way I live and wait.

In Your time, let Your plans come to pass in my life — not a moment too soon or too late. I yield myself to You in love and trust.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity.
