Prayer Starter - Tuesday, July 8, 2025 "One Soul Today"

A friend of mine recently said to me, "You can't have too much Jesus!"  Isn't that the truth. With all the challenges life throws at us, we all need Jesus!

Prayer is the conversation we have with God that helps us stay connected to Jesus and the Spirit of God.  We are blessed to belong to a God that loves His people and wants to hear from us.

In prayer we tell Jesus about our fears, our concerns. We asks God to bless us, to protect us. We also worship the Holy Trinity in prayer. (Praise the Lord!). 


Unfortunately, many don't have any relationship with God.

This morning, I want to suggest that in prayer, you may ask God to open the hearts of a friend or loved one who is not saved. Sometimes this can be tough. We want to share this "Jesus" with the ones we love.  I like to pray the prayer, "Lord, lead me to one soul today." But the truth is we often already know the souls that we love and we want them to be saved.


“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” – Matthew 28:19

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another.” – Hebrews 10:24-25

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28

Do you have someone on your heart that you want to see accept Jesus as Lord and Savior?  Do you know someone who is not enjoying the full life Jesus gives those of us that follow Him?  Then let us start by asking God to help them get ready to accept Jesus.

Lord, I ask for so much. Please forgive me. But this morning I want You to help me identify the love ones that I want to see in Your Kingdom.  Maybe they don't know You at all. Maybe they have slipped and life has gotten in the way of them worshipping You.  I want to lift up to You (NAME THE PERSON or PERSONS). Please prepare their spirit to accept a relationship with You. Help them to know You as God.

If I can have an impact in helping them find You again, please give me the message. Until they are saved by Your grace, I will pray for _____ to know You as Lord and Savior.

In the Name of Jesus. Amen

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity.
