Prayer Starter - Sunday, August 3, 2025 Sunday Prayer for Blessing

It's a beautiful Sunday morning. 

I hope you have plans for worship today.


Sometimes, when life gets hard and we feel stressed, it’s easy to lose focus. Problems pile up, and we start thinking it’s all up to us to fix everything. We might feel like we’ve messed up and got off track, like we’re not on the road to success anymore. We try to fix things quickly, working hard to make something happen. We wonder why certain doors are closed or why things aren’t going our way. We start to believe that if we’re not smart enough, strong enough, or brave enough, maybe God can’t use us.

But we forget something important. God—the One who made the whole universe, who placed every star in the sky, and who knows how many hairs are on our head—also knows exactly where we are in life. When we put Him first, He puts His favor on us. He can make things happen in a second that would take us years to do on our own. He can lead us to the right people at the right time. He can open doors we never expected—and close ones that aren’t right for us.

God has a plan for us, even in the hard times. And sometimes, the biggest blessings come after we’ve gone through the hardest tests.

Dear God, 

This Sunday morning, I lift Your name up as You are an Awesome God and You love me and care for me, even in the hardest of times. Help me trust You. Help me remember You will use us even in times of stress. Please help me to walk with You at all times. May Your Holy Spirit watch over me and keep me close to You.

Bless my worship today and may I be a blessing to someone that needs uplifting today.

Thank You for Jesus; in His Name. Amen

Today's Prayer Starter Good morning! As we begin this five day journey of praying specifically to build our relationship with God, let's start with a prayer of adoration. In Psalm 8 , David prays a prayer of adoration.  "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of yor foes, to still the enemy and the avenger." You can read the entire Psalm, but this morning use David's prayer to help you tell God why you believe His name is majestic in all the earth.  Try it! Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity.
