Prayer Starter - Wedneday, August 27, 2025 "What would Jesus say to You at the Well?"

The story of the Woman at the Well is so inspiring (John 4 - from The Message). Here is verse 28-30 from The Message: "The woman took the hint and left. In her confusion she left her water pot. Back in the village she told the people, “Come see a man who knew all about the things I did, who knows me inside and out. Do you think this could be the Messiah?” And they went out to see for themselves."

What would Jesus say to us if we met Him at the well? I can almost guarantee, we would also say, "He knows me inside and out."

This morning I want to pray thanking Him for knowing us so well. We are truly blessed to have a Lord that loves us this much.

Holy Father,

I can only imagine what Jesus would have said to me if I met Him at the well. Like the woman, I would have been scared. I would have been embarrassed to realize that You, God, knows me inside and out.  I stand here today, realizing that I could still be shamed, but understanding You love me and care for me - that means so much to me.

My life is so much more than my daily routine and duties. My life is about living for You, shedding light on a world who does not love You. Thank You for knowing me - help me to know You better each day.

Help me not to worry. Help me to trust You in everything about my life. Continue your prayer. Thank You, Lord, for knowing what I need. My I always seek You first; in the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Read the promise from Jesus found in Matthew 6:

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.  But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
