Prayer Starter - Wednesday, August 13, 2025 "Pray Together and Pray for One Another"

Good Wednesday Morning,

I am praying this morning for you. I have learned the value of praying for others. When we pray for each other, we remember the special bond we have because we belong to Jesus. So whether you and I are in the same room, or across the state, when I lift you up in prayer, it helps me get to know the Lord better. 

Prayer isn’t just something we have to do—it’s a way to truly care for one another. We can talk to God about our friends’ needs, worries, and joys. The Bible tells us that praying together is important because it helps us grow closer to God and to each other. We are encouraged to meet, share, and pray for one another as a sign of love and unity. When we pray, we show that we need God and that we are here to help each other follow Him, building a community that strengthens our hearts and faith.

“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives.” – Colossians 1:9

Heavenly Father,

This morning, I pray for my friends; friends I have known for years and friends I have just recently met. I am praying for those that are praying along side me through the prayer starters. May Your Spirit bless them with wisdom and understanding.

I am praying for my family - my children and grand children; my wife, my siblings. Lord, I lift them up and ask you to bless them - keep them safe from evil and may the Spirit guide them to serve You.

Dear God, I pray for our local churches and the sweet souls that make up each of those congregations. May You guide them to always serve our communities, both the needs of the physical and the needs of the spiritual. (Acts 6:1-7). Dear Lord, may Your church - through us, and Your Spirit - share the news of Jesus' with those that Satan has misguided.

Through the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Of course, this is just my simple prayer this morning. You pray for the "one anothers" you know and pray specifically for each of them that are on your mind. God bless you in your journey as we pray for those that are on your mind.

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship.
