Prayer Starter - Tuesday, September 2, 2025 Pray like Moses - Boldly!


Good Morning,

I would like to share a prayer with you. It was the first recorded prayer of Moses in the book of Exodus.

God stated the people were stiff-necked and He burned with angry against them. (vs9-10)

11 But Moses implored the Lord his God and said, “O Lord, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? 12 Why should the Egyptians say, ‘With evil intent did he bring them out, to kill them in the mountains and to consume them from the face of the earth’? Turn from your burning anger and relent from this disaster against your people. 13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by your own self, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have promised I will give to your offspring, and they shall inherit it forever.’” 14 And the Lord relented from the disaster that he had spoken of bringing on his people.  Exodus 32:9-14

Wow, The Lord was upset and Moses changed His mind because Moses prayed to God. What a powerful lesson for us. God hears our prayers.

I John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 

Lord, I don't ever want to make You angry, but I am so blessed to have this prayer of Moses to teach me how to pray. Moses knew You. He knew Your promises and he reminded You of them. That was bold!  Heavenly Father, I am not sure I want to ever be that bold, but thank You for sharing this prayer with us. May Your Spirit give us a boldness to pray the prayers we need to pray.

Today, I need to pray for -fill in what is on your mind.  (I will share my prayer, but you feel free to pray your needs, not mine).

Today, I need to pray for wisdom. Wisdom to make good decisions for those You have given me to serve. Wisdom to lead my family. Wisdom to encourage my church. Holy Lord, watch over me and give me wisdom to learn from Your Word - to remember Your lessons taught before I was even born. Help me to take the lessons from Your Word and implement them in my life. 

Forgive my sins. Forgive my lack of faith at times. Bless me service to make this world a better place for all. In the Name of Your Son, my savior, Amen.

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity.
