Prayer Starter - Wednesday, September 3, 2025 Jesus Rejoices


Good Morning,

I would like to share a prayer with you. Today's prayer is one verse long and it belongs to Jesus.

Read Luke 10:21 "At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do." (NIV).  Luke 10:21 ESV, says, "Jesus rejoiced."

So much to unpack here, but let's focus on a few facts from this passage: (1) This is a prayer of Jesus. He was being moved by the Spirit, yet was speaking to God. That is a powerful thought about the Godhead. More than I can understand, except, if Jesus was moved by the Spirit and spoke to God, then shouldn't I?  Of course.

(2) Jesus rejoiced and praised God. We know we should included praising God in our prayers.

(3) Jesus was rejoicing and praising God because - ? He recognized that God was working in the lives of these people.   You can study a lot more by reading the entire chapter of Luke, but this morning focus on these three things: Jesus Prayed, Rejoiced and Praised God, and Recognized God working through others.

Holy Father, 

I am in awe. Amazed to know that Jesus rejoicied. Oh, I can only imagine that and I am sure I don't do the scene justice. You, Jesus, the Spirit, all working together to get message out. And when it is accepted, You were pleased and Jesus rejoiced!

Lord, help me to live a life that makes You rejoice! Bless me with the opportunity to serve. Bless me with the faith to tell our story. Bless me to know when You are rejoicing.

Thank You, Lord for listeing to my prayers, muy supplications and my thanksgivings. Help me to be anxious for nothing and faithful to You in all!  Help me to walk today "rejoicing in the name of the Lord!"

By the grace of the rejoicing, Jesus, I pray. Amen

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God... Phil. 4:4-9

Today's Prayer Starter Good morning! As we begin this five day journey of praying specifically to build our relationship with God, let's start with a prayer of adoration. In Psalm 8 , David prays a prayer of adoration.  "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of yor foes, to still the enemy and the avenger." Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Prayer Starter - Thursday, October 23, 2025. God’s Faithfulness in Every Season

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship.
