Prayer Starter - Friday, October 10, 2025 Prayer of Permission


Good morning, Prayer Friend,

Today's focus is for all of us, but particular my friends who have loved ones that are suffering and near  the end of life on earth. It just happens that across the country, I have a few friends in this situation.   All of us will at some point in time, so if this isn't your prayer today, save it for a time when you might need it.  My Father-in-law always said it was important to give people permission to transfer to the "home office." So with the blessing of the Holy Spirit, I hope I can share some words of encouragment in this prayer:

Loving Father,
I bring my dear one before You—my heart aches, but I trust in Your mercy and love. You have walked with us through so many seasons, and now, as they near the doorway to heaven, I ask You to hold them close.

Surround them with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Take away every fear and every pain. Let them feel Your presence, warm and steady, guiding them home.

Lord, thank You for the gift of their life, for the love we’ve shared, and for the promise that this goodbye is not forever. When the time comes, welcome them into Your arms with joy and light. And please, Father, comfort me with the hope of the day we will be together again in Your presence.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Today's Prayer Starter Good morning! As we begin this five day journey of praying specifically to build our relationship with God, let's start with a prayer of adoration. In Psalm 8 , David prays a prayer of adoration.  "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of yor foes, to still the enemy and the avenger." You can read the entire Psalm, but this morning use David's prayer to help you tell God why you believe His name is majestic in all the earth.  Try it! Still need some help.  Here is my morning adoration prayer to God: O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!  You have given me a good night's rest, good health, and a desire to spread the love of Jesus today.  Walk with me O Lord and let your light shine from me today!

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Prayer Starter - Thursday, October 23, 2025. God’s Faithfulness in Every Season

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship. Yet, he still finds reason to hope. Why? Because God’s faithfulness is unwavering. Even when circumstances seem difficult or uncertain, God’s love and compassion never fail.
