Prayer Starter - Friday, October 3, 2025 Hope in Christ, Sealed by the Spirit


"When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of His glory." – Ephesians 1:13–14

Life often presses us with burdens, uncertainty, and struggles that can shake our confidence. But Paul reminds us that our hope in Christ is secure because it is sealed by the Holy Spirit.

Hope in Christ is not fragile optimism; it is a sure foundation. When we placed our faith in Jesus, God gave us His Spirit as a seal—a permanent mark of belonging. That seal is God’s guarantee, His pledge that what He has promised, He will bring to completion. The Spirit Himself is a deposit, assuring us that eternal life and glory with Christ are not just possibilities but certainties.

This hope carries us through life’s storms because it rests not on circumstances but on God’s faithfulness. The Spirit within us whispers daily reminders of that hope, strengthening us when we feel weak and anchoring us when we feel unsteady.


Father, thank You for giving us hope in Christ and sealing us with Your Spirit. 

Remind me daily that my future is secure and my life is held in Your hands. 

May the assurance of Your Spirit give me courage, peace, and joy as I walk with You. 

By the power of Jesus, I pray, Amen.

Today's Prayer Starter Good morning! As we begin this five day journey of praying specifically to build our relationship with God, let's start with a prayer of adoration. In Psalm 8 , David prays a prayer of adoration.  "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of yor foes, to still the enemy and the avenger." You can read the entire Psalm, but this morning use David's prayer to help you tell God why you believe His name is majestic in all the earth.  Try it! Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship. Yet, he still finds reason to hope. Why? Because God’s faithfulness is unwavering. Even when circumstances seem difficult or uncertain, God’s love and compassion never fail.
