Prayer Starter - Monday, October 6, 2025 Hope that Waits!

but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint.  - Isaiah 40:31

The word "hope" in this passage can also be translated "wait" - Hope in the Lord is not a passive waiting—it’s an active trust in His promises. When life feels heavy and our strength fades, God invites us to place our confidence in Him, not in our circumstances. True hope looks beyond what we can see or even expect and lands on knowing God is faithful, unchanging, and full of mercy.

Christian hope brings renewal. It lifts us up above the weight of our struggles and gives us strength to keep going. Like eagles soaring through unseen winds, we find ourselves carried by God’s power when we rely on His strength rather than our own.

No matter what season you are in, keep your hope anchored in the Lord. His timing is perfect, His strength never runs out, and His promises always hold true.


Heavenly Father, thank You for being the source of my strength and hope. 

When I grow weary, remind me to rest in You.  Help me to trust Your timing and Your faithfulness, knowing You will renew my strength.   Lift my spirit today so I may soar above doubt and fear, walking each step in confidence and hope through Christ.

Because of Your Son, I have hope. Amen.

Today's Prayer Starter Good morning! As we begin this five day journey of praying specifically to build our relationship with God, let's start with a prayer of adoration. In Psalm 8 , David prays a prayer of adoration.  "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of yor foes, to still the enemy and the avenger." You can read the entire Psalm, but this morning use David's prayer to help you tell God why you believe His name is majestic in all the earth.  Try it! Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship.
