Prayer Starter - Thursday, October 30, 2025 A Prayer in the Cold Front
"He changes times and seasons; He deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning." — Daniel 2:21
When a cold front moves in, everything shifts. The air grows sharp, the wind whispers through the trees, and even the sunlight feels different. We pull on jackets and brace ourselves for the chill. Yet in that sudden change, there’s a quiet reminder of God’s sovereignty—He is the One who changes seasons, both in nature and in our lives.
Sometimes, a cold front comes to slow us down. The warmth that once surrounded us fades, and we feel the sting of transition. But just as the earth rests under frost to prepare for spring, our souls often need seasons of stillness and renewal. The cold reminds us to seek warmth—not in comfort or routine, but in the steadfast love of Christ, who never changes even when everything else does.
So when the cold winds blow, breathe deep. Let them remind you that God is near, working in every shift of the season. The same hands that send the chill also promise the thaw.
Lord, help me to trust You in every change of season. When life feels cold and uncertain, draw me close to Your warmth and remind me that You are always at work, bringing new life in Your perfect time.
I praise You this morning for being the God of all of creation, my God, that loves me, provides for me and protects me. Thank You for being the God You are! Praise Your Name for You are in charge. You give wisdom and You teach us to be discerning. My prayer today reminds me to seek warmth in the relationship I have with Jesus. Help me to share the blanket of His love with those closest to me.
In the Name of Your Son, Amen.
