Prayer Starter - Thursday, October 9, 2025 Be Kind!

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Ephesians 4:32 (NIV)

Kindness is more than being polite—it’s the visible expression of God’s love at work in us. When we choose kindness, especially when it’s not easy, we mirror the heart of Christ. His kindness toward us was not earned; it was freely given, even when we were undeserving.

Every act of kindness—whether a word of encouragement, a listening ear, or a helping hand—becomes a small glimpse of God’s kingdom here on earth. Our world is often hurried and harsh, but the believer’s call is to stand apart, clothed with compassion and grace.

Take a moment today to ask: Who can I show kindness to? It might be a friend in need, a stranger in line, or someone who has wronged you. As you do, remember—every time you extend kindness, you’re reflecting the love of Christ Himself.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for showing us what true kindness looks like through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help us to reflect that same love and compassion to others. Soften our hearts toward those who are hurting or difficult to love. Fill us with patience, gentleness, and a spirit of grace. May our words heal instead of harm, and our actions shine with Your goodness. Teach us to see others as You see them—with value, dignity, and purpose.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
