Prayer Starter - Monday, December 1, 2025 One Body, Many Gifts, One Purpose
Ephesians 4:1–16 paints a beautiful picture of a diverse church held together by a single calling. Paul urges believers to “live a life worthy of the calling you have received,” reminding the Ephesian church—made up of different backgrounds, cultures, and stories—that unity is not optional but essential.
God did not design His church to be a group of identical people. Instead, He equipped each of us with unique gifts—teaching, serving, encouraging, leading, shepherding, and more. These gifts come directly from Christ, given not for our glory but “to equip His people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.”
Just as the early church learned to blend their differences into a unified mission, we too are called to cherish our diversity while walking in humility, patience, and love. Unity grows when each part does its work—when every believer uses their God-given gift to strengthen others.
Today, may we celebrate the variety of gifts in Christ’s body. And may we commit ourselves to building up, rather than breaking down, the unity God created—so that together we grow into maturity, reflecting Christ to the world.
Lord, thank You for the gifts You have placed within each of us. Help me walk in humility, patience, and love as I use what You’ve given me to build up Your church. Teach me to value the diversity of Your people and to work for unity in every place You have planted me. May my words and actions strengthen the body of Christ and draw others closer to You…(continue your personal prayer of praise, thanksgiving and requests).
Because of Your Son, Amen.
