Prayer Starter - Monday, November 24, 2025 A Thanksgiving Prayer that Leads to Joyful Worship
Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and dancing. And Miriam sang to them:
“Sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously;
the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.”
After the Lord parted the Red Sea and delivered Israel from Pharaoh’s army, the very first response recorded is a woman lifting her voice in thanksgiving. Miriam, the sister of Moses took her tambourine, gathered the women, and led them in a joyful song: “Sing to the Lord, for He is highly exalted!”
What a beautiful picture of worship on the other side of fear.
Imagine, the same feet that once ran in panic now danced in praise. The same voices that cried out in anxiety now sang with confidence. Gratitude became their testimony. Their thanksgiving wasn’t quiet or reserved; rather it was public, joyful, and contagious. Miriam’s praise turned into a movement of worship that spread through the camp.
Sometimes God invites us to respond the same way. After He brings us through deep waters, He calls us not just to breathe a sigh of relief but to lift a song of thanksgiving. Our praise becomes a witness to those around us, reminding them that God still delivers, still the Way-Maker, still the One who brings His people safely through.
Today, take a moment to reflect on the Red Seas God has brought you through. Let gratitude rise. Let praise move you. And maybe your thanksgiving will inspire someone else to worship too.
Holy Father, I have been through some Red Seas. I remember, running and hiding, only to ask You to help me or protect me and You came through - because You are faithful! I praise You, O, Lord, because in those tough times, You made it look easy. You took care of my enemies and I walked write through the dry land.
Oh Father, You are the Way-Maker, You still deliver! Thank You, O Lord. As my prayer friends and I are praying this week, I ask You help us remember to praise You. I hope our prayers of gratitude can be shared so all of us can be moved to praise You!
Thank You for Jesus. In His Precious Name, I pray. Amen.
