Prayer Starter - Tuesday, November 11, 2025 Thankful for our Veterans
Veterans Day reminds us to stop and thank God for the brave men and women who have served our country. Many veterans chose to put others before themselves. They worked hard, faced danger, and made sacrifices so we could live in safety and freedom.
The Bible teaches that showing love often means serving others. Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (John 15:13). When we think about veterans, we see an example of this kind of love in action.
As we honor them, we should also turn our hearts to God with gratitude. He is the one who gives strength, courage, and protection. We can thank Him for guiding our veterans, for watching over them, and for blessing our nation through their service.
God, thank You for our veterans. Thank You for their courage and for the sacrifices they made. Please bless them with strength, peace, and Your loving care. Help us always remember to be grateful.
Continue to pray your prayer this morning and thank God for the specific veterans you know in your life (If you are a veteran, see a prayer from your point of view below).
Through Jesus, we pray: Amen.

A Veteran's Prayer*
When I look back on my time in service, I remember moments of challenge, courage, and deep responsibility. I also remember the many times I felt God’s protection and strength, even when the days were long and the future felt uncertain. Serving my country taught me that real strength comes from Him.
The Bible says, “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me” (Psalm 28:7). I saw this truth in action. God was with me in every step, every mission, and every hard decision. He kept me steady when I felt tired and gave me peace when I felt unsure.
Today, I thank God for allowing me to serve. I thank Him for the people I served with and for the loved ones who supported me. Most of all, I thank Him for His faithful hand that never left me.
God, thank You for guiding me through my time of service. Thank You for Your strength, protection, and grace. Help me continue to honor You in the way I live each day. Because of Your love in Jesus, Amen.
