Prayer Starter - Friday, December 19, 2025 The Gift of Perseverance


Perseverance is one of God’s quiet but powerful gifts. It is the strength He gives us to keep walking forward when the journey feels long and the burden feels heavy. Scripture reminds us that perseverance is not something we manufacture on our own, but is formed in us as God works through our trials.

“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus.” — Hebrews 12:1–2

God never promised that the road would be easy, but He did promise that He would be faithful. When we grow weary, He renews our strength. When we feel tempted to give up, He reminds us that our labor in Him is not in vain. Perseverance keeps us anchored in hope, shaping our faith and drawing us closer to Christ.

Every step forward - no matter how small - is evidence of God’s grace at work within us. Through perseverance, we learn to trust not in our own endurance, but in God’s sustaining power.

Holy Father, We stop this morning and lift our voice up to You in praise. You are our God, our Lord. Thank You for the benefits You provide us as we learn to serve You. Thank You for the gift of perservance, the strength that comes from You to help us carry on.

O Lord, my life is not always smooth. The road of life is bumpy, but I am learning to trust You as I walk with Your Spirit.   Help me stay anchored in hope and shape my faith as I learn to be more like Jesus.

Bless our friends. Bless our families. Forgive me for my foolish decisions, for my sins, for my lack of faith. Help me to grow stronger in You.

In the Name of Jesus, I pray.

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship. Yet, he still finds reason to hope. Why? Because God’s faithfulness is unwavering. Even when circumstances seem difficult or uncertain, God’s love and compassion never fail.
