Prayer Starter - Monday, December 29, 2025 - A Prayer of Renewal




Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
    for his compassions never fail.
23 
They are new every morning;
  great is your faithfulness  - Lamentations 3:22–23

God specializes in fresh starts. His mercy is renewed daily, and no failure or disappointment from last year has the final word. The new year is not about perfection; rather it is about renewal through God’s grace.


Heavenly Father,
As this new year begins, I come to You thankful for the gift of a fresh start. I lay down the weight of yesterday; the worries, regrets, and unfinished chapters in my life so far and receive the newness You offer today. 

Renew my heart, clear my mind, and restore my spirit so I may walk forward with hope.

Create in me a desire to grow closer to You in this year ahead. Shape my thoughts. Guide my steps. Please help me live each day with purpose and gratitude. May this new year be marked not by my strength, but by Your faithfulness at work within me.

Through Jesus Christ, Amen.

Today's Prayer Starter Good morning! As we begin this five day journey of praying specifically to build our relationship with God, let's start with a prayer of adoration. In Psalm 8 , David prays a prayer of adoration.  "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of yor foes, to still the enemy and the avenger." You can read the entire Psalm, but this morning use David's prayer to help you tell God why you believe His name is majestic in all the earth.  Try it! Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Assurance is God’s gift of steady confidence in His promises. In a world filled with uncertainty, God offers His children the peace of knowing that our salvation, hope, and future rest securely in Him—not in our own strength or performance. “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” — 1 John 5:13 God’s assurance reminds us that we belong to Him. When doubts arise or fears whisper that we are not enough, His Word speaks truth: we are held by His grace. Our confidence is not rooted in how tightly we hold onto God, but in how firmly He holds onto us. Through assurance, God calms anxious hearts and strengthens our faith. We move forward not in fear, but in trust—resting in the certainty that nothing can separate us from His love.
