Prayer Starter - Saturday, December 20, 2025, The Gift of Comfort

 



Good morning, Prayer Warrior;

The gift of God's comfort meets us in moments of sorrow, uncertainty, and weariness, reminding us that we are never alone. God does not stand at a distance from our pain. He draws near with compassion and peace.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles.” — 2 Corinthians 1:3–4

God’s comfort does not always remove the hardship, but it strengthens our hearts to endure it. Through His presence, His Word, and His people, He brings peace that steadies our souls and hope that carries us forward. In our weakest moments, His comfort becomes a quiet assurance that He is with us and He will not let us go.

As we receive God’s comfort, we are also called to share it. As Christians we are vessels of His compassion to others who are hurting.

O, Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your Name!  Thank You for for being our God of all comfort.   You may find me stressed - You find me in distress - You find me alone and lost, but You, O Lord provide me with quiet assurance.  I know You will not let go.  Thank You, Lord for bringing me to Your compassion and Your peace.

This morning, I am praying for my friends across the land, for those who are stressed, please give them Your comfort. For those feeling alone, provide them with companionship. Lord, for those with health challenges, I pray You will give their earthly bodies rest and strength.

Please watch over us today. Prepare our hearts for the worship tomorrow.

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship. Yet, he still finds reason to hope. Why? Because God’s faithfulness is unwavering. Even when circumstances seem difficult or uncertain, God’s love and compassion never fail.
