Prayer Starter - Sunday, December 21 2025 The Gift of the Church




  “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” 
— 1 Corinthians 12:27

The church is not a building or a program. The church is God’s living gift to His people. Through the church, God places us in a family where faith is strengthened, burdens are shared, and hope is renewed. The church is a place where we share faith stories and support one another. We worship together, learn together, and grow together as the body of Christ.

God never intended for us to follow Him alone. The church reminds us that we belong to Jesus Christ and to one another. In seasons of joy and in times of struggle, the church becomes a place of encouragement, accountability, and grace.

When we love, serve, and remain connected, we experience the church as God intended—a powerful gift that reflects His presence in our lives.

Thank You Lord for Your Church, the Body of Christ.
This morning I lift up to You my fellow members of the Body for we are all family and Your Children.

Please watch over the entire church family.  Bless my church family - some are physically ill, some are just aging gracefully.  Others are struggling with family challenges, relationships and or finances. Some of us just need to grow more to be like You.

Bless our worship today. May it be beautiful in Your heart. I pray our worship is pleasing to You but also that it lifts the spirits of my Christian friends and those that might visit in our body this week.

Thru Jesus we prayer Amen.

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship.
