Prayer Starter - Tuesday, December 30, 2025 - A Prayer for Wisdom


God promises wisdom to those who ask - not judgment or criticism, but guidance rooted in love and truth. 

"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.Walking wisely begins with humble prayer." -James 1:5

A new year brings new choices, fresh opportunities, and unknown paths. While we may ask God for success, clarity, or peace, Scripture reminds us to first ask for wisdom. God’s wisdom shapes our decisions, guards our hearts, and helps us see beyond the moment to what truly matters.

Wisdom is more than knowledge—it is learning to trust God’s direction even when the way forward is unclear. As we begin this year, we are invited to pause, pray, and listen. When we seek God’s wisdom, we walk with confidence, humility, and faith, knowing He will guide each step.

Lord, grant me wisdom for every decision I face this year. Help me listen for Your voice and follow it.  Teach me to hear Your Spirit clearly through prayer and Your Word. Help me recognize Your voice of peace and truth and turn away from anything that brings confusion or fear. Draw me closer to You so I may walk in obedience and trust Your guidance each day.

Today's Prayer Starter Good morning! As we begin this five day journey of praying specifically to build our relationship with God, let's start with a prayer of adoration. In Psalm 8 , David prays a prayer of adoration.  "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of yor foes, to still the enemy and the avenger." You can read the entire Psalm, but this morning use David's prayer to help you tell God why you believe His name is majestic in all the earth.  Try it! Prayer Starter - Thursday, December 25, 2025 The Gift of Emmanuel - God with Us

Merry Christmas.  Good morning, friend: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us ). — Matthew 1:23 From the very beginning, God’s desire has been to dwell with His people. The promise of Emmanuel - God with us  — is the fulfillment of that longing. In Jesus Christ, God did not remain distant or unreachable. He stepped into our world, our struggles, and our suffering. Emmanuel reminds us that God is present in every season of life. When we feel alone, He is with us. When we walk through uncertainty, He walks beside us. Jesus experienced human weakness, sorrow, and temptation, yet without sin, so that we could know God not just as Creator, but as Companion and Savior. The gift of Emmanuel assures us that we never face life on our own. God’s presence brings comfort, guidance, and hope. Because He is with us now, we can trust Him with our future. Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm.
