Prayer Starter - Wednesday, December 10, 2026 The Gift of Community



Good Morning - 

Acts 2:42–47

And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.  And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common.  And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

God never intended for us to walk alone. Community is one of His greatest gifts—people who pray with us, encourage us, strengthen us, and help us stay faithful. When we gather in fellowship, we experience joy, unity, and spiritual growth that we simply cannot find on our own. Community reminds us that we are always stronger together.

In recent years, so much has changed—our society, our routines, even the rhythms of church life. Many of us spend less time in meaningful relationships than God intended, and it’s easy to drift into isolation without even noticing.

But we don’t have to stay there. Make the choice to reconnect: attend Bible class, send a note of encouragement, or call someone you haven’t spoken to in a while. Unity grows when community grows. And if you’re unsure where to begin, simply ask God—He will guide you to the person who needs your encouragement today.


Father, thank You for surrounding me with people who help strengthen my faith. Guide me toward the relationships You know I need, and help me be a source of encouragement to others. Lead me away from isolation and into the community You have designed for my growth. Open my eyes to someone I can reach out to today. 

Continue your prayer. Praise God and ask for the things you need. Just remember to thank Him for all these beautiful gifts.

Today's Prayer Starter Good morning! As we begin this five day journey of praying specifically to build our relationship with God, let's start with a prayer of adoration. In Psalm 8 , David prays a prayer of adoration.  "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of yor foes, to still the enemy and the avenger." You can read the entire Psalm, but this morning use David's prayer to help you tell God why you believe His name is majestic in all the earth.  Try it! Still need some help.  Here is my morning adoration prayer to God: O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!  You have given me a good night's rest, good health, and a desire to spread the love of Jesus today.  Walk with me O Lord and let your light shine from me today!

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship.
